Whenever I am asked why food and spices are my avenue of expression, I discuss a proverb in the bible that forever changed my perspective on life. The Scripture in Genesis chapter 26 talks about the patriarch Abraham and his sons making peace with the warring Philistine Armies by providing a delicious feast for them. After this feast, the men who were enemies embraced one another, signing a peace covenant which would unite them in friendship for generations to come.
Abraham and his sons discovered that the first brick to be laid in the foundation of unity, is friendship. Sharing a meal with love, is the cement that will set the bond of friendship forever.
